Privacy Policy

Effective date: 22 May 2026

MigraineLog is a private migraine and headache diary for iOS. This policy explains what information the app stores, where it is kept, and how third-party services are used. Health data you log stays on your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud backup.

Health and diary data stays on your device

Pain levels, symptoms, triggers, notes, medication names, attack times, and any health records you enter are stored locally on your device. This diary content is never sent to analytics, monetization, or attribution services.

Optional iCloud backup

If you turn on iCloud backup, your diary is synced through your own private iCloud database under your Apple ID. It is stored in your personal iCloud space, not on servers operated by MigraineLog. You can disable backup at any time, and local retention continues to work without it.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

With your explicit permission, MigraineLog can read headache-related samples to add local context to your diary and can write headache samples you choose to record. Health data exchanged with Apple Health stays on your device and within Apple Health, and is never uploaded by the app to analytics or third parties.

Weather context (WeatherKit)

If you enable weather context, the app may request a local weather outlook through Apple WeatherKit to help you spot environmental patterns. Weather requests are used only to display context next to your entries.

Voice logging (Speech)

If you use voice logging, the microphone and on-device speech recognition are used only while you are actively recording an entry. Transcription is performed on device where supported.

Purchases and subscriptions

Purchases, restores, subscription status, and entitlement validation may be processed by Apple and RevenueCat. Apple handles payment details. MigraineLog does not receive or store full payment card information.

Analytics and paywalls

The app may use PostHog and Superwall to understand non-health usage such as paywall views, purchase attempts, restore attempts, and onboarding flow performance, after applicable consent. These events are limited to anonymous commerce and non-health usage. Your diary content and health data are excluded from analytics, paywall, and attribution events.

App Tracking Transparency and attribution

Where attribution is used, it follows Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. If you deny tracking, attribution events are not shared. Apple AdServices attribution tokens, where used, do not carry any health information.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, iOS local notifications are scheduled on your device for events such as upcoming appointments or renewals. You can disable them in the app or in iOS Settings.

Support email

If you contact support, your email address and message content are used only to respond to the request and maintain support records.

Data sharing

Operational data may be processed by Apple, RevenueCat, PostHog, Superwall, and hosting providers only as needed to operate purchases, analytics, support, and these pages. Diary and health data are not shared and are not sold.
